Dave Beech was born in Warrington, Lancashire in 1965, studied Fine Art at Leicester Polytechnic in the 80s and studied Cultural Theory at the Royal College of Art in the 90s. He teaches at Chelsea College of Art, writes regularly for Art Monthly and books, including 'Beauty' MIT/Whitechapel, 'Curating and the Pedagogical Turn' Open Editions/de Appel, and 'Art and Text' ,Black Dog. As a member of the Freee art collective he has exhibited at the Liverpool Biennial, SMART project space in Amsterdam, BAC in Utrecht, and the ICA in London. He recently co-curated the exhibition 'We Are Grammar' at the Pratt Institute in NY with Paul O'Neill.
